Talk:Austen (fan)

Should this be a disambiguation, as 'Austen' is the usual name of the fandom for Jane Austen's works, which we currently have at the (to my mind very odd) title of Jane Austen (fandom)? Espresso Addict (talk) 20:05, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation makes sense. To be honest, I'm a bit surprised by the name of the fandom page because preemptive disambiguation isn't something we usually do, so I'm not sure how that happened. --Doro (talk) 12:44, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
It was created in 2008, so perhaps the policies weren't as established back then. Unfortunately it's linked +++ otherwise I'd move it. Espresso Addict (talk) 16:12, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
Existing links to the Jane Austen page shouldn't mean it shouldn't be moved, as long as a redirect is left. Also, it looks like the two fans listed on the disambiguation page are the same: austen on LJ aka storybrooke links to aftershesaves for her fic, which are the same fics posted by austen on AO3. I'll add that info here and modify the dab page. --sparc 20:19, 3 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. I had wondered if they were the same fan, but the fandoms seemed different; I'd not investigated that link.
On the Austen fandom page -- I've created the majority of recent Austen fandom pages, and I've been careful to use the correct article title to link to, but I suspect there are a lot of links to other titles, which would mean some double redirect hassle.
