Someone on twitter was complaining that describing Laurel Lance/Oliver Queen as currently very popular was wrong. On AO3, it is the tenth most popular ship, i.e. not popular at all. 176 works compared to Oliver Queen/Felicity Smoak's 5401.[1] But I don't know if AO3 is representative.--aethel (talk) 21:50, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- Just saw this! So I'm sorry for the late reply. But yeah initially the pairing was popular though and when the page was created it was true, a LJ community (probably Tumblr & FFN) fandom was already around for it. However at the time the fandom was fairly small in comparison. Granted I was out of the fandom at that point I believe... it's not until Felicity became a semi-regular character that I really returned to the series. The Oliver/Felicity pairing kinda exploded though from their first meeting (October 24 2012) or at least by December 2012 as Felicity appeared more often since then. When I returned there was a lot of Olicity works and Laurel/Tommy (usually as a side pairing) works, I didn't ship Laurel/Oliver so I'm not sure how active that pairing actually is/was (probably why I didn't edit that particular sentence when I started editing). It's not until last year that I started seeing people on Tumblr still shipping it (or I guess paid attention to it). Sometimes AO3 can be a representative, Olicity is definitely more popular ship in Arrow. If you check now, Oliver/Felicity has over 7000 works and Oliver/Laurel has just 207 works.--Harpie (talk) 15:08, 29 March 2016 (UTC)
