Talk:Anon Meme

I want to add something about anon meme communities being controversial in namespace LJ fandom at the beginning before becoming, as far as I can see, the only reason fans use LJ anymore at all. And that anon memes were an antidote to the perceived cliquishness of LJ fandom, etc. But it may have been more true of bandflesh, which is the comm I see complaints about[1][2], and bandflesh is gone so I can't see how it really compares against something like FFA. Anyone know more?--aethel (talk) 19:12, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

Also some of the complaints about bandflesh in the 00's remind me of complaints about ffa in the 10's; namely, anyone looking at the meme from the outside is prone to interpreting one commenter's repeated grudgewank as comments endorsed by the whole group. Because everyone is "Anonymous" and it's hard to interpret the flow of discussion even if you do read an anon meme regularly.--aethel (talk) 19:21, 6 August 2017 (UTC)
