Is there any special reason why it's titled Alt Startrek Creative, not Alt.startrek.creative, like Alt.tv.x-files.creative? - Vassilissa

Special, no. Created the name before I knew we could use punctuation in a name, yes. Easier and faster to type, yes. Alt indicates newsgroups and usenet, so I didn't think it was necessary to change it. --Seperis 14:56, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
I think it's a good idea to have them both the same, whichever way that is. At very least, there should be a redirect, for people like me who keep forgetting and typing the dots in anyway. --Vassilissa 14:59, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Name change.

CORRECTION: Gardeners: Could this be redirected to Alt.startrek.creative please? Thank you. --Seperis 20:02, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh, okay, got it! Please ignore my question in the erotica.morderated page. Obv. I am slooooow. Will move this now. --lian 21:01, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

ASCE / ASCEM Split

This section is going to have to be removed. ASCE was created in 1995. The slash debate sited as the reason for its creation occurred in 1997 in this section. ASCE's creation had little to do with events in ASC. ASCEM's creation may have created some slash debate resurgance, but it's reason for creation was ASCE spam (spamming of ASFS resulted in ASCE, so there was a tradition of moving to avoid spam. The ASCEM article has been corrected already. I am looking through my existing files for something to put in it's place. --Oldmanasc (talk) 03:53, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your help in all this. --MPH (talk) 12:03, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Thank you too! Since this is part of published memoirs - I'd like to restore it with the corrections and comments made by oldmanasc above. That way we'll have the corrected info at the top and cite the source of the incorrect dates. Something like: "Some fans remember XXXX, however in fact the slash debate took place two years after the creation of ASE. While ASCEM's creation may have created some slash debate resurgance, but it's reason for creation was ASCE spam ..." --MeeDee (talk) 20:27, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
