Talk:Afrofuturism

I'm wondering if this page and Africanfuturism should be merged. They seem like the same genre to me, but I could be wrong, so if someone who has a greater knowledge than me could take a look I'd appreciate it -- Kingstoken (talk) 11:50, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello, AfroFuturism is futurism through the lens of African Americans. AfricanFuturism (see separate page) is African futurism from a more authentic African perspective. If Africans see the two as different, it is not our place to make judgement. That's why I created the two pages as separate. Cheers. GeoffA (talk)
Oh, I didn't realize. Thank you very much for the context Geoff -- Kingstoken (talk) 15:24, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for your enquiry. It makes me wonder if we need to clarify the distinction more on the pages. Thanks again.GeoffA (talk) 08:56, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
