Results location

I think we added results at basically the same time, in two different places, User:Yishaqeni - do we want to keep the results in the opening section or in the timeline section? -- FBV (talk) 07:19, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Whoops, I didn't see this before I edited, but I removed the results from the timeline section because I think it makes sense to have the results in the intro, and the timeline can just be for dates. --enchantedsleeper (talk) 10:22, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Controversy Timeline Notes

A few notes for the Controversy timeline:

• I invited myself to the elections discord and it says the chat started 9 pm July 31 (my time EDT).
• people in the live discord chat asked followup questions at the time
• At the same time(?) someone started a thread about Tiffany's answers on fail_fandomanon here. (2022-07-31 21:44) - my timezone EDT
• Chat transcript was posted August 5. The first comment was posted August 9, second august 10. The other 300+ comments were August 11 or later.
• This tumblr post was on August 9, and has a decent number of notes, but I saw the twitter discussion first.
• Source of the viral spread: this tweet by hitthebookspost (2:55 AM · Aug 11, 2022) - I think twitter shows me everything in my timezone? (EDT) - hitthebooksposts saw and reblogged the tumblr post
• There's a different tweet a few minutes earlier, but it doesn't have nearly as many retweets: tweet by josilverdragon (2:36 AM · Aug 11, 2022)
• A few hours later someone posted to the AO3 subreddit: OTW Board Election
• Within the same day the news spread to weibo, but I think the original post was deleted, so I'm not sure when: Here's a tweet about it. Notice that the weibo post contains screencaps of hitthebookspost's tweet.
• I collected more weibo links here
• I searched dreamwidth and someone posted on August 11 with some links
• It was getting talked about in various discords, all after the hitthebookspost tweet, I think.
• tumblr post collecting Chinese fan reactions from twitter (August 13)
• Someone on tumblr said Taiwanese fans were discussing it on plurk. This post seems to have learned about it from weibo? posted 23:11 on August 11, though what timezone I don't know. this person collected some links to the plurk discussions. plurk search for "AO3" shows me a lot of panicking. (I'm using Chrome's built-in machine translation software and cannot read or speak Mandarin.)

thank you! trying to follow everything has been an absolute pain, given the controversy was over several platforms, trying to write a timeline that isn't all over the place has been... difficult :') Yishaqeni (talk) 06:17, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
