Talk:2011 OTW Board Election
Should this be moved to "Organization for Transformative Works/2011 Board Election" with a redirect? Not quite sure how subpages work! Thanks Tai 13:42, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- The OTW is an organization and this election is an event. I think two separate top level pages (with their own templates/categories) is fine. --Doro 14:05, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
- Cool, that makes sense. Thank you! Tai 04:11, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Structure & Balance
this page needs serious work, structure and balance - What, exactly, would you suggest? The balance is fairly obvious, since most of the quotes and links are critical of the OTW/NN. I've mentioned that we need more content from NN's supporters. I'd be more than happy to see other people adding to this page. The OTW election this year is huge, and I'm shocked that more people aren't contributing to the page (Fear of wank, perhaps? Too involved to be objective? I'm trying my best to be objective, but I admit that my bias is probably coming through pretty clear.)
As for structure. . . what should be done? There are headings for the elections' primary talking points. Other than integrating the various links in the "linkdump" paragraph, how else can structure be improved? --Anenko 21:23, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Butting in here: From my perspective, Volunteer Burnout, Transparency, and Outreach were discussed well before it became a "Naomi Novik or not" discussion, so I would suggest changing the order. Maybe also include a point whether this discussion is damaging and destructive or healthy and necessary to the org as a whole. Personally I find writing about ongoing situations difficult because I'm already overwhelmed trying to keep track of it all, so I applaud your effort and hope to be able to contribute later.--Tiyire 21:38, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the constructive ideas! I was a bit frustrated being told the page has problems when I pointed that out myself. Please feel free to move things around and add details if you want. --Anenko 09:18, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
