An in-progress manga by Kazuko Higashiyama and Sakura Kinoshita. Set in the Taisho era (July 30, 1912 to December 25, 1926) of Japan, it follows the adventures of folklorist and part-time exorcist Kantarou Ichinomiya, the oni-eating tengu Haruka, and the kitsune Youko.
The first eight volumes were translated into English and published by Tokyopop, which is no longer operating in North America. Volumes 9-13 are only available in Japanese and Chinese.
A one-season, 25-episode anime was produced based on the manga, and is available on DVD through Manga Video. It provides both English and Japanese voicetracks, with English subtitles.
In yaoi fanfiction stories, the most common pairing is Haruka/Kantarou. However, practically every combination imaginable (het, slash, and multiples), as well as pure gen and/or friendship fics, have been produced by fan writers.
