Synecdochic is a prolific fanfiction writer, an ex-LiveJournal employee, and a co-founder of Dreamwidth. She wrote the highly influential popslash classics Rakes at the Gates of Hell and Heart of Stone, Eye of Tree.

Synecdochic also portrayed several characters in the Harry Potter role-playing game Alternity, which ran from 2008 to 2015.
