Many fandoms have phrases (or single words) that are a immediately recognizable way for fans to self-identify and to show fannish solidarity with a specific canon source.
These slogans can be used as rallying cries, salutations, support, and a way to show other fans that one is "in the know."
They are often used as a way to close a message of correspondence and to wish other fans well.
