Shadow the Hedgehog/Sonic the Hedgehog, known primarily as Sonadow, is the slash pairing between Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog in the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom.
Canon

The Sonadow fandom sprung up quickly after the Shadow's debut in Sonic Adventure 2 during 2001, establishing itself on fanfic sites such as FanFiction.Net, FanDomination.Net, and AdultFanFiction.Net, as well as art sites like DeviantArt. As none of these sites at the time implemented pairing filters, the name Sonadow became the default tag used to identify the ship, beating out the less-popular Shadsonic in the early 2000s.
As of 2020s, Sonadow is a juggernaut ship in the Sonic fandom as a whole. It has the most fanworks out of any Sonic relationship on Archive of Our Own.[1] As the ship runs counter to Amy Rose's canonical interest in Sonic, Sonadow is often positioned against Sonamy, and it is not unusual for Amy to appear as an antagonist or love rival in Sonadow fics.
It also has a sizable hatedom, with many anti-Sonadow groups on DeviantArt.
