Reactions and Reviews
SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR by A.L. Hughes wouldn't have been my choice for 3rd place, but it's still a nice little story. Stranded by circumstances that left me a bit bored, on a planet alone, Kirk and Spock have to deal with mysterious mineral properties in the native water that bring out the beast in both of them. The writing is standard, the story a bit re-hashed, but a nice, inoffensive read. My pick for 3rd place would have been the first 'honorable mention', FLYING HIGH by Karn Wills. [1]
