Reactions and Reviews
1987
This is an oddity in an issue of AIDT, a story with deliberate humor. I found the situation (Kirk and Spock addressing the sexual tension between them while aboard a commercial shuttle flight) perfectly amusing. This is a funny story without it being insulting to the characters as so often happens with humor in K/S. A good story, one that deserved a bit more attention from the judges of the contest. [1]
1991
The situation is inherently erotic. Kirk and Spock are in a public place, namely a commercial shuttle flight, but Spock tells Kirk in whispers about what steamy acts they are going to perform on leave. Kirk would thoroughly enjoy this—the frisson of naughtiness in the public expression of private needs, and the frustrated arousal because he'd know that Spock would satisfy him eventually. Unfortunately, I have a nitpick. Spock tells Kirk that the natives of the planet where they are about to take leave don't swim because they're cold blooded. I would like to remind the author that fish are cold blooded. A Spock who needs biology lessons strains credulity. [2]
