Excerpts

Nom de Plume ( please tell us what inspired it ):

Commandante Teresa, lifted from the series of Sharpe books (and a rather excellent miniseries) by Bernard Cornwell. Teresa was a guerrilla fighter in the Napoleonic wars, and I don't believe there's a female character, or many real women, more completely in control of her life and her femaleness, a completely equal partner to her mate, Sharpe.

What was your first experience with fanfic?:

Being 14 and writing 'what came next' to Legend (alternately some really raunchy and completely theoretical fantasies about the cast of Top Gun minus Anthony Edwards and a tub of lime Jell-O--I say 'theoretical' given that I was still quite virginal at the time and had no clue, I barely knew what 'horny' was). Of course, at the time I had NO idea what I was doing was 'fanfic'.

What was your first encounter with X-Files fanfic?:

Browsing Chicago Hope sites, actually--I encountered Nina Smith's "A Dark Smear Under the Sky" and was hooked, hooked, hooked...after that, I immediately went looking for others.

What made you into a Skinneroticist?:

Skinner begs for sexualization which he rarely gets in the series (I refuse to count dead hookers)--the eyes, the hands, the voice, the aura of command, the constant control of surging energy--plus I like smut. Sex is such a powerful act, so charged with emotion and/or sensation, it's a real test of writing ability to write quality erotic fiction.

Do you write for other fandoms? Which ones?:

I write the odd bit of Brendan Fraser fic, Sharpe fic, (hence, Commandante Teresa), and I slum in the mixed-celebrity nothing-but-smut lists (every once in a while, you just need to think about being with Mark Hoppus, Mark McGrath, David Boreanz and Selma Hayek in a tub of lime Jell-O--um, did I say that out loud?

And NO, I don't have a lime Jell-O fetish, why do you ask?:)
