Some Excerpts
Why did you choose your pen name?
Well... if I had spelt it right, it would be the name of one of the Irish war goddesses. As it is, I didn't, so it's just a relatively okay sounding collection of syllables. I chose it back when I was cutting my teeth on Mortal Kombat fanfic, and it seemed kind of appropriate.
Would you agree that fanfiction is a genre dominated by women, and if so, why do you think it's so?
Well, HP fanfic is dominated by women, and I would say that's typical of most genres. That said, I was the only female Mortal Kombat writer I ever came across. Perhaps writing is considered effeminate on some level. (Certainly with all those horrible romances you get.) I think possibly on some level men can get more determined, and if they're going to do something wussy and artistic they're going to do it professionally. I've noticed that among musicians as well.
This is a site devoted to antagonists. Could you reveal us your favourite Mr. Bad Guy?
I don't suppose I'd be allowed Professor Snape, since he's no longer technically a villain, so it'll just have to be Edmund from King Lear. Don't know why, but I always liked the guy. Aggrieved, but with a reason (his parentage), and always so stylishly evil.
