In late August of 2017, three authors in the BuzzFeed Unsolved fandom each wrote one entry in a series of fics focused on a marriage between Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej. The authors, each with other prominent fics to their name (see ghostwheeze's Foolish Mortal and spoopyy's contrapposto), created the series as a "kind of challenge between the three of us to see how long we could keep this theme going".[1]
These fics are some of the earliest posted for the Shyan pairing, and perhaps the first completed trilogy in the fandom.
Summary
Part one, The Proposal(s), is a 2+1 fic written by ghostwheeze.
Two times Shane and Ryan pretended to propose and one time it was real.
Part two, murphy's law, is a wedding fic written by spoopyy.
“So, don’t be mad, but the flowers are the wrong color, our best men are nowhere to be found, someone lost the rings, the cake isn’t here yet, I think I lost the vows I wrote and I can’t rewrite them because we’re thirty minutes away from being wed, there’s no photographer, and we can’t find Brent. Oh, and I can’t find my suit." Or, where everything that can go wrong does go wrong, but ends up right in the end.
Part three, Good Enough, is a smut fic written by Obscenegender.
Shane couldn't stand the idea of Ryan regretting him, and such a regret could start that very night. Or, both of these boys are massively insecure.
