Jennifer Walters is a Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and John Buscema. Her first comics appearance was in 1979 and over the years she has been a member of the Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D., Defenders, Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire, and Fantastic Force. She is considered one of the most notable and powerful female heroes, with John Byrne's version of the character considered the most iconic. She is also known for breaking the fourth wall, addressing the audience directly and making meta-comments and jokes decades before Deadpool appeared.
Jennifer has been featured in various other Marvel-licensed products, including video games, animated television series, merchandise and entered the MCU in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law where she is played by Tatiana Maslany. This has resulted in a resurgence in the character's popularity as well as resurrecting claims by of misandry by elements of fandom.
