Tyrion Lannister/Sansa Stark, also known as Sanrion, is the het pairing of Tyrion Lannister and Sansa Stark in the A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones fandoms.

Canon

Thirteen-year-old Sansa became a hostage in King's Landing after her father's execution in season one. King Joffrey Baratheon, then her betrothed, cruelly tormented her. In an incident in season two, Joffrey ordered a Kingsguard to beat Sansa and forcibly strip her in the throne room, but Tyrion intervened to stop the abuse. Seeing Sansa out of the room, Tyrion asked if she wanted to end the betrothal, but she shrewdly professed loyalty to Joffrey. Tyrion noted to himself that she "may survive us yet." Joffrey later ended the betrothal so he could wed Margaery Tyrell.

In season three, Tywin Lannister, Tyrion's father, arranged for him to marry Sansa, hoping to rule the North through her. Neither party desired the marriage. Tyrion had a secret lover, Shae. He got her a job as Sansa's handmaid to keep her close. On the wedding night, Tyrion refused to have sex with Sansa despite pressure from his father, telling her he'd share her bed when she wanted him. This did little to allay Shae's fears. She saw Tyrion's attempts to send her away for her protection as evidence of desire for Sansa.

Sansa fled King's Landing when Joffrey was poisoned at his wedding in season four. Tyrion, though innocent, was accused of the murder. Shae testified at his trial and falsely stated that he had agreed to murder Joffrey for Sansa to try to get into her bed. Tyrion later fled with his brother Jaime's help.

Tyrion and Sansa were reunited at Winterfell in season eight. Tyrion, now Hand of the Queen to Daenerys Targaryen, pleaded Jaime's case before Sansa and Daenerys. Later, he spoke privately with Sansa, and they discussed their parting. During the battle against the dead, they sheltered in the crypts. Tyrion remarked that they should have stayed married. Sansa told him he was the best of her suitors, but that they wouldn't work now, due to his allegiance to Daenerys. When the long-dead Starks rose, attacking the non-combatants in the crypts, Sansa and Tyrion hid behind a tomb. They shared a long, fearful look, and Tyrion kissed her hand. Afterward, when Daenerys was planning to march south, Tyrion asked Sansa to set aside her dislike of the queen. Sansa revealed the truth of Jon Snow's parentage to him.
