Samantha Jones, mostly known as simply Sam Jones, is a companion of the Eighth Doctor from the Eighth Doctor Adventures books.
Canon
Sam's entire life was manipulated by Faction Paradox to be the perfect companion to the Doctor, in the form of Blonde!Sam, Blondie, or simply Sam Jones, despite this version technically not being the 'original'. Dark-haired Sam, a version of Sam who never met the Doctor, stepped through his timestream and created her altered self, the self known for travelling with the Doctor.
She is canonically bisexual.
