Rengade Souls is a slash Kiefer/Lou 80-page novel by Rosemary Callahan. The cover is by Angi Towski. It was edited by Robyn LaSalle.
This zine was the first novella published by Heart of the Matter Press.
This is a Buster/Hank novel featuring the characters set in the western universe of Young Guns and continues where the movie Renegades left off.

From the talented pen of [Rosemary C] comes a story based upon events that occurred within the 1989 Kiefer Sutherland/Lou Diamond Phillips movie, Renegades...and takes it a few steps beyond.
After the final battle to retrieve the Sacred Lance has ended, Buster McHenry and Hank Storm return to the city for some well-deserved rest...and a bit of healing. Before either can realize what’s happening, they find themselves in a frighteningly intimate situation. Hank flees to South Dakota, knowing that he must return there to fulfill his destiny. Meanwhile, Buster is finding Philadelphia a lonely place without a certain Lakota Sioux's presence.
He seeks a change of pace when he tracks down Storm and proposes a second chance. Anew life opens up to them both, and some changes —as well as a few sacrifices— are made. If a big city cop can accept his lover’s ancestral powers, then everything should work out fine...right? Buster certainly hopes so.
A beautiful exploration into a charming relationship, Renegade Souls is full of the Sioux mysticism so prevalent in Renegades, as well as the warm camaraderie brought to the screen by its two stars.
Contents
The zine is made up of the fic called "Renegade Hearts" (35 pages) and the sequel called "Renegades and Other Dreamers (56 pages)." Both stories were originally supposed to be published in Interludes; the zine's editorial said:
But I foresaw greater things, and proposed the novella. Ro was in complete agreement, and we set the project into action. At the time of this publication, Rosemary is working on Part Three of this wonderful Renegades universe she's created, and has promised me publishing rights.
