From " My "Fan"Tasy, or Close Encounters of the Beast Kind by Wayne Kelley"

In Wayne Kelley's story, a man named Richard goes Below and meets everyone there. He begs to stay and live there, as he does not like the world ABOVE. Vincent tells Richard he must return:

"Richard, the Dream we share is not just this place, and it's not just Catherine or Father, or even myself. Our Dream is about living the best life we can, and making the best world we can. You have a whole lifetime of potential to fulfill, and untold works to accomplish. In becoming the best person you can be, you make this world stronger, and better too. The Dream is neither here, nor up there, The Dream is in you, in how you live and what you stand for. Fantasy for its own sake is such a small goal for a soul such as yours. You must look beyond the fantasy and live the Dream."

[...]

For a couple of days, I wasn't quite sure if it had really happened or not, but I've been back to the Tunnels many times since then. And I'm not the only one either! I go to conventions, talk to other fans, and I've gotten more than my share of knowing winks.

So now, when people ask me about thew Tunnels being real, I just smile mischievously and say, "Of course they're real! After all, I've been there!"

A Staggering Amount of Non-Fannish Romantic Poetry and Song Lyrics

This fandom has a custom of including the words to romantic non-fannish poems in their zines. This one has a very large amount of them, perhaps taking up real estate that some fans would have preferred to see filled by fanworks.

The editor describes turning some fanworks down:

Thanks to everyone that submitted work, poetry, and stories. All those that were accepted and but used in this zine, will be used in another issue. After all, I could only fill so many pages this time around, and the work was great. Thanks all of your for your time, patience and talent. I have included the words to several pieces (hat you have heard over and over again, but thought you would like them in print.

A Plug for Poetry

The editor includes a plug for Wayne Kelley's poetry zine, Captured Moments:

EDITORS NOTE: FOR THOSE FANS THAT WERE AT THE 1990 THANKSGIVING PENTA CON, YOU MAY REMEMBER SEEING THE WRITER OF THIS STORY, WAYNE KELLEY. HE WAS DRESSED AS VINCENT, AND CALLED UP ON THE STAGE TO MEET RON PERLMAN IN PERSON. WAYNE IS A GENUINELY WARM AND SENSITIVE HUMAN BEING WHO TRULY POSSESSES THE SPIRIT AND SOUL OF "VINCENT” HIMSELF. I AM LUCKY TO COUNT MYSELF A PERSONAL FRIEND OF HIM AND HIS WIFE. THE BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL ARTWORK IN THIS ZINE WAS DONE BY WAYNE’S LOVELY, KIND, AND TALENTED WIFE, ANNA DEAVERS KELLEY. BE SURE TO BUY A COPY OF HIS BOOK OF POETRY TITLED CAPTURED MOMENTS, WHICH HAS A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL POEM FOR EACH EPISODE OF B&B PLUS FANTASTIC ARTWORK BY ANNA, ALSO ARTWORK BY PAMELA MARTIN AND TERRI LIBRANDE...

Reactions and Reviews

Good reading except for the fact that virtually all plurals have apostrophes, like possessives (hand's, eye's, etc.); some readers will find this distracting and annoying. Discounting the poor editing, the stories are interesting; if you don't mind iffy typography, you may well enjoy this more than the rating would indicate. [1]

This volume consists of a collection of vignettes, short stories, poetry and song lyrics. In most of the short stories Vincent and Catherine consummate their love, marry or be come expectant parent (sometimes all of the above!). In one original story, a fan finds himself magically in the Tunnels where he discovers reports of Catherine's death to be 'greatly exaggerated.' (This is the only 3rd season reference.)[2]
