Reactions and Reviews

A poetry and artzine. Art by Anna Deavers-Kelley, Pamela Martin, Terri Librande; the work by Deavers-Kelley and Martin is especially striking and well reproduced. Kelley's poems, most in free verse, are commentaries and reactions to each of the 56 episodes of B&B; also a few miscellaneous poems. The poetry is thoughtful, readable, rather than lush, heavily imagistic, or fevered with romance. Diana is briefly mentioned, but not dwelt upon. Pages are unnumbered and run one-sided (reverse sides are blank); page count is only of pages with poems (nice borders) or artwork on them. Well edited and presented. Worth the price merely for the artwork. [1]

60 poems and lots of original art. Most poems are in free verse and are commentaries and reactions to each of the 56 episodes of BatB – also a few stand-alone poems. Diana is briefly mentioned, but not dwelt upon.[2]

EDITORS NOTE: FOR THOSE FANS THAT WERE AT THE 1990 THANKSGIVING PENTA CON, YOU MAY REMEMBER SEEING THE WRITER OF THIS STORY, WAYNE KELLEY. HE WAS DRESSED AS VINCENT, AND CALLED UP ON THE STAGE TO MEET RON PERLMAN IN PERSON. WAYNE IS A GENUINELY WARM AND SENSITIVE HUMAN BEING WHO TRULY POSSESSES THE SPIRIT AND SOUL OF "VINCENT” HIMSELF. I AM LUCKY TO COUNT MYSELF A PERSONAL FRIEND OF HIM AND HIS WIFE. THE BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL ARTWORK IN THIS ZINE WAS DONE BY WAYNE’S LOVELY, KIND, AND TALENTED WIFE, ANNA DEAVERS KELLEY. BE SURE TO BUY A COPY OF HIS BOOK OF POETRY TITLED CAPTURED MOMENTS, WHICH HAS A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL POEM FOR EACH EPISODE OF B&B PLUS FANTASTIC ARTWORK BY ANNA, ALSO ARTWORK BY PAMELA MARTIN AND TERRI LIBRANDE...
