As the two most prominent female characters in the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons megafandom, this was the primary option available to femslash enthusiasts before the release of Frozen, as 2D/3D crossover ships are often considered more difficult to vid. Fans of Hiccup/Jack Frost might ship Meripunzel to pair the spares, and vice versa.
