Excerpt
# Which is your favorite fandom?:
I have a great many favorites. Star Trek TOS holds my first, best loyalty since I 'predate' the series and watched it first-run as a child. I enjoy all the Treks and just about anything sci-fi/fantasy related, which means my secondary favorites include Highlander, The Sentinel, The X-Files, and Smallville.
# Do you write in other fandoms than your favorite? If so, which ones?:
Funny thing, I don't write much in my favorite, lol. I write primarily Star Trek Voyager, The Sentinel, and The X-Files, although I've dabbled a bit in other fandoms.
# Do you read in other fandoms?
Oh heck yeah. I'll read anything.
# Are you an OTP person?:
No, except when it comes to Kirk and Spock. Anybody else is fair game and subject to be paired willy-nilly.
# Are you a writer or an artist?:
I have no artistic talent, which I regret deeply. I'm a pretty damned good writer, though... uh, not that I'm vain or anything.
# Do you only write online or do you write for zines as well?:
Mostly online, but my first zine story is supposed to be in CTYS28 - it's a Sentinel zine - which is a fact I'm really delighted about.
# What kind of stories are your favorites?:
I like a story that can make me think, make me empathize with the character, and provokes me into looking at a character's motivations in a new light. I prefer long stories I can sink my teeth into. I don't have to have explicit sex scenes but I have to be able to feel the emotional connection between the characters.
But, I'm not real picky. LOL!
# Least favorites?:
Generally speaking, I find extremely violent stories with no emotional resolution hard to endure. I would have said MPREG but ya know, if I can justify it within the fandom, I can enjoy those, too.
# How did you get into fan fiction?:
I started writing what might be termed 'real person' fiction back when I was 12 or 13. My friends would dog me to put them in my stories, lol. I started writing TOS fanfic in the early 80's - in longhand, on notebook paper. It was escapism from what was, at the time, an unhappy marriage.
# Are you a slash fan?:
Again, oh heck yeah. I can barely stand to read het fic now, lol.
# If so, how did you become one?:
Read a magazine article in a doctor's office that mentioned fanfic, got curious, went browsing, found Trekiverse. The first slash story I ever read was 'Full Circle' by Killashandra, and of course, it made a believer out of me. I'm not kidding when I say it changed my life and changed the way I looked at the world.
Took me about a year to attempt writing slash (although, when I went back and reread my early aforementioned TOS fanfic I was a bit surprised to find a lot of slashy elements in it). My first written slash story was in Voyager and was so well received I was encouraged to write more.
