Provocateur is a same-actor crossover story by Alex. It features characters from Scarlet and Black, The Princess Bride, and The Bounty but appeared on Star Wars TPM recommendation sites and was treated as a Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan AU.
Summary
"The further perilous adventures of Julien Sorel."
Later Published as a Print Zine, Along With "Convergence"
Because The Phantom Menace straddled a moment in time regarding online and off-line fiction, the story was republished a year by Sian later as a 269-page print zine, along with Alex's story, Convergence. The two fics were bound together as a flip-over zine.
Recs and Reviews
Strictly speaking this isn't TPM, it's a crossover involving Julien Sorel (Ewan McGregor in Scarlet and Black) and Charles Churchill (Liam Neeson in The Bounty). But her Churchill is close enough to my Qui-Gon for me to read it as an AU. Especially as both the historical and movie Charles Churchill is a seriously unpleasant piece of work, whereas the Provocateur character is wonderful. It's a great big exciting epic - thoroughly recommended.[1]
NC17 | 47 Chapters | NCS | AU | Crossover | Violence | Bondage [...]This fic is one of my favorite fics of all time. It is so long and satisfying - the characters' lives become your life and soon you're devoting entire days to the sheer pleasure of reading this fic. It's a swashbuckling adventure with a healthy dose of angst, steamy sex, peril, pirates and, most important of all, love.
It's a crossover of The Scarlet and the Black and The Bounty. In The Scarlet and the Black, Ewan McGregor is Julien Sorel and in The Bounty Liam Neeson is Charles Churchill. Don't worry if you haven't seen the movies or read the books (in fact, do not see The Bounty, it's a terrible movie) - the story will inform you of all you need to know and far surpass what the canon presents.
It's enchanting and engaging, and surprisingly light-hearted and fun given the amount of times that Julien ends up in a bad situation. Some scenes in this story pop into my mind from time to time and my little fangirl heart still speeds up to this day.
To Arms![2]
