Portkey, also known as Kanji no Sakka in Naruto fandom and as circa1918 in Twilight fandom, is a fan writer best known in Harry Potter fandom for her Remus/Tonks stories. She is also an administrator at the Ron/Hermione archive Checkmated.

In late 2007, Porkey removed her Harry Potter fanfiction from both Checkmated and FictionAlley.[1][2] Portkey announced that she had retired from writing fanfiction[3] and that her two in-progress stories would remain unfinished.[4] She explained:

The two main reasons I decided to stop writing are: (1) all the characters I routinely wrote are dead in canon, and (2) the last book made it clear to me that my interpretation of those characters (particularly Remus) was terribly off the mark compared to how they were ultimately portrayed by their creator. My heart was no longer in it, knowing that if I was going to steer my WIPs according to canon, they would, by necessity, become stories I didn't want to write.

I removed my WIPs because I didn't want to knowingly leave them where readers might discover them, read them, and then be frustrated because they would never be finished. I deleted the rest because they were all laughably AU now, and didn't reflect the characters as they turned out to be.

I'm sorry to have disappointed anyone who'd invested time in reading my stories. If it's any consolation, it was a very difficult decision to make and I'll miss them too.[4]

Porkey's fanfiction is still available at her fic journal, though all content is friendslocked.
