Poe Dameron/Luke Skywalker, also known as Puke[1], is the romantic pairing of Poe Dameron and Luke Skywalker from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Another name for this pairing, in the style of more modern Star Wars ship names, is 'SkyPilot' or 'JediPilot', taking after the ship names based on occupations made popular in Rogue One.
Canon
Poe Dameron and Luke Skywalker have not met in Star Wars canon, although the graphic novel Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Shattered Empire explains that Poe's parents were part of the Rebellion and knew Luke Skywalker. In this same graphic novel Luke also gave Shara Bey and Kes Dameron a force-sensitive tree to look after on Yanvin IV. [2] This tree often appears in many notable fanwork, including the fic to the sky without wings.
Fandom
History
The first work featuring this relationship, to the sky without wings[3], was written by leupagus and posted serially on the AO3 in January 2016. The work has inspired art and text fanworks, as well as fan mixes on the AO3 and tumblr, many of which are linked in the work's notes. leupagus also coined the relationship's portmanteau.[4]
By June 2017 there were 33 works in the Poe/Luke tag on Ao3. A year later there was 41 fics, and at the time of writing, in June 2020, there are currently 58 works in this tag. [5]
