A phan is a fan of Phantom of the Opera or the American rock band Phish or the animated series Danny Phantom.
This word is based on the old naming convention of the Phantom of the Opera fandom: replacing "f" in fandom-related words with "ph" (after "Phantom"), e.g. "phandom" instead of "fandom", "phic" instead of "fic".
