Reactions and Reviews

This beautifully written story gives insight into Blair's changing world view as he learns to adapt to being a cop. A series of events brings home the fact that he is no longer a bystander to Jim's violent world, and it's fascinating to watch him dealing with the consequences of his decision to carry a badge. Probably the best fic I've read dealing with the issue -- that being a cop isn't all happy and lovely. Highly recommended.[1]

I'll break my standard and go to traditional summary, to say that this is a story that deals primarily with Blair's adjustment to being a cop...

Why you should read this story: Gritty grown-up Blair--and after reading several Tiny!Blair stories from other writers you might find yourself thinking, "Wow! He grew up at last and he's a man!" All that and damn good partner angst too.

What might throw you off stride: It's definitely Blair-centric. You Jimbabes might need to open your mind. But your heart will follow.[2]

This is an interesting look at Blair's life post TSBS, working as a cop, because it's one thing to be a part time police observer and another thing entirely to be a full time cop. The story begins with one of Blair's cases going south while Jim is out of town at a conference, and then details the fallout over the next few days.[3]

I nearly liked Sigrid's first story, Yield. In fact, I came as close as I ever will to liking something which quotes poetry. <g> Read it if you can. This one, though, I really liked. Clever and warm and a bit funny, and incredibly satisfyingly real, with Attitude Blair, my favourite, and No Bullshit Jim, also a favourite. A well-thought-out Blair-as-cop story.[4]
