Oswald/Ed is the pairing of Oswald Cobblepot (The Penguin) and Edward Nygma (The Riddler) from the Batman fandoms. This pairing is most popular in the Gotham fandom.
Canon

In season 3, Oswald developed an attraction to Ed, his criminal and business partner. By the time Oswald realizes and accepts his own feelings, Ed has met a woman who share his love of riddles and bears a striking resemblance to his former lover.
Oswald attempts to manipulate Ed into breaking up with Isabella, but when that fails he has her break lines cut, ensuring her death and removal from Ed's life. Ed is distraught and determined to find out who killed Isabella. Eventually suspecting Oswald, Ed tricks him into declaring his romantic feelings. These two characters have been in opposition to each other since.
Fanon
The pairing of Oswald/Ed wasn't very common but grew in popularity after Oswald's season 3 revelation and fans remained hopeful, refusing to believe their ship was sunk.
Some fics examining the relationship between these two, assume that Oswald's love isn't unrequited. Ed was understandably distraught about Oswald killing Isabella, and maybe there is an attraction there but he doesn't want to get involved with the man who killed his girlfriend. There are Angst fics set after their friendship imploded. Some fic writers establish their relationship before the introduction of Isabella in canon, or look at their developing relationship if Isabella had never been introduced.
There are fics focusing on Ed hallucinating Oswald's ghost, after he think he murdered his former friend. Other fics examine the lengths Oswald will go to repair his relationship with his friend. Fluff fics are often tagged Murder Husbands on Ao3
With the release of The Batman (2022) the pairing had a small revival with an average of around 60 new works on the tag published in the months subsequent to the film's premiere.
