Nothing Gold Can Stay is a Star Trek: TOS story by April Valentine.
It was published in the print zine Contact #3.
Reactions and Reviews
Kirk and Spock explore an abandoned edifice in which they are overcome by memories evoking loneliness. Contact appears to help, but eventually, Kirk must knock Spock out to get him to safety. Unclear tie-in to Jim’s nightmares of the Enterprise being destroyed. [1]
'Nothing Gold Can Stay,' by April Valentine, has an interesting premise but the story tended to bog down in the 'memory' scenes -- you'd think that Spock and Kirk, as unique as their experiences are must be, would have more interesting memories. These are somewhat dull. [2]
