Reactions and Reviews

1992

This story had a very original feel to it, mainly because of the refreshing use of words, though there were some occasional awkward phrases ("pellucid gaze", "sense of interrelatedness", both on p. 112), but for the most part this story was wonderfully, colorfully written. And while it would have been nice to have some conflict involved, I was nevertheless caught up in the extreme sensuousness of the writing. In fact, the cold scientific facts regarding the planet seemed a bit out of place. This is a very promising first story by a new author, and I'd like to see what she can do with a longer story and a more complex plot. [1]
