"No but seriously imagine it" is a famous tumblr imagine post made by user blossomedsloth on 29 November 2015. It has been considered a copypasta as well as a heritage post. [1] [2] The post itself is multifannish, mentioning the bands Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, and My Chemical Romance as well as YouTubers Dan and Phil (and the popular ship Phan). The original is still available on blossomedsloth's blog as of December 2024.

The Post

You're seeing fall out boy on a concert. Everyone is having a great time. Fall out boy seem a little excited. "We have a surprise for you guys." Partick says. All of a sudden P!ATD come out and start singing "this is gospel." When Brendon gets to the chorus, someone else starts singing...

"When I was a young boy my father took me into the city to see a marching band."

Lights flash everywhere, and you see FOB singing "this is gospel" along with P!ATD, while MCR is singing "Black parade". Everyone in the crowd is going wild and crying. Then if things couldn't get any better, Dan and Phil walk onto stage and kiss, holding the gay flag.

Acknowledgment by Dan and Phil

In November of 2023, Rolling Stone magazine announced on their Twitter that My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy would be headlining the 2024 When We Were Young Festival (which was held on October 19-20, 2024).[3] [4] Referencing the post, Phil quote retweeted the announcement on November 13th, adding "No but seriously imagine it:" to the delight of many fans.[4]

On 19 October 2024 (the day the festival started), Dan posted a video to his tumblr in which he and Phil reenacted the viral meme, stopping short of actually kissing.[5] The post captioned the video as "you don't need to imagine it anymore."[5]

One fan attended Dan and Phil's 2024 Terrible Influence Tour and associated meet & greet dressed as the imagine post.[6]
