NicoNicoDouga (ニコニコ動画, lit. Smile Video) or NND, is a Japanese video-sharing site that hosts a lot of anime and Vocaloid-related content.
NND operates Nico Nico Pedia, a wiki-style encyclopedia about NND tags and more general internet Japanese jargon. Many articles have fanarts and other user contributed pictures.
Impact on Fandom
Vocaloid fandom is deeply associated with NicoNico. The first Vocaloid song was posted there in 2004, and many other popular songs were initially posted there. [2] Nico Nico Chorus videos originated on NicoNicoDouga and are named for the site. NicoNico is also home to the Weekly Vocaloid Ranking, a weekly show that uses site metrics to discuss the popularity of new Vocaloid songs.[3]
In additon, terms Utattemita and Utaite developed on NicoNico. [4][5] Many utaite post mainly or exclusively on NicoNico.
