Series Information

NCIS: Los Angeles is a spin-off of NCIS and follows the adventures of the Office Of Special Projects, a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the United States's national security.

The team comprises Operations Manager Henrietta "Hetty" Lange, Special Agent G Callen, former Navy SEAL Special Agent Sam Hanna, Special Agent Kensi Blye, Operational Psychologist Nate Getz, and Technical Operators Eric Beale. Rookie agent Dominic "Dom" Vail was written out of the show in first season episode, Missing. Analyst Nell Jones joined the team in the second season and usually works with Eric Beale.

NCIS: Los Angeles is a classic buddy cop show; a fact that can be easily surmised by the popularity of the buddy pairing G Callen/Sam Hanna. Callen is also a classic woobie raised in foster homes (canonically 39 of them) he got his name from his suitcase which was labelled 'G Callen'. His great skill is as an undercover agent, a man of many faces. Two of his former foster siblings have died on the show so far.

The show occasionally passes the Bechdel Test with its two great female characters, Hetty Lange and Agent Kensi Blye.
