A much-quoted movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail was the second film by the comedy troup Monty Python and the first written specifically for the screen. The film intentionally mangles Arthurian Legend, with King Arthur and his knights going on the search for the Holy Grail, with all sorts of chaos ensuing.

The film was later adapted for the hit Broadway musical Spamalot.

Fandom

In addition to being required viewing for English-speaking nerds, the film has inspired some fanworks.

Roleplayers and the Holy Grail

The film is very popular with Dungeons and Dragons fans. It is considered uncool among LARP groups, because if one person starts quoting it, the rest of the group will begin quoting the entire movie. [citation needed]
