Mizuki 5 (also known as Mizu5) refers to the 5th character focus event for Akiyama Mizuki in Project Sekai. Fans were kept in suspense during the leadup to the event, and fan reactions spread beyond the Project Sekai fandom.

Before the event, the producer commissioned to create the theme song for the event and the character voice actors posted about it on social media. The producer warned fans to be prepared, and that "some realities cannot be helped,"[1], while Sato Hinata, the seiyuu for Mizuki, stated she was crying while recording her dialogue for the event[2]. This fueled speculation about the intensity of the event more than a week before it began. The start date of the event was also planned to be October 11th, which is National Coming Out Day in the US. Fans were in dispute over whether or not that was intentional or a coincidence, as Project Sekai takes place in Japan and is made by a Japanese company. The release of the event banner image the day before it began, showing Mizuki's horrified expression, only increased anticipation for the event itself.

Phrases about "bells tolling" often appear in posts associated with the event. This is a reference to the lines "The bells of parting toll" in the song Netsu Ijou (Heat Abnormal), which was covered by Niigo before the event. Fans noticed similarities between the music video for the song and Mizuki's untrained card.[3]

After the event released, people were united in their anger against the unnamed NPCs in the event, with many people decrying "Student A".
