Miss Pauling/Scout, known mostly as Caught Looking, is a common pairing within Team Fortress 2 fandom. The ship is between The Scout and Miss Pauling. While Scout is one of the game's nine playable mercenaries and main characters, Miss Pauling is a supporting character, though is a major player in the game's side material such as the official TF2 comics. She was largely introduced to fans in 2011 through the Meet the Director comic, though had a cameo earlier on.
In 2015, the ship was confirmed non-canonical when Jay Pinkerton, a writer at Valve, confirmed on Twitter that Miss Pauling was a lesbian.[1] However, many still ship them, and Miss Pauling/Scout is the most popular Het ship in the TF2 fandom as of 2024.
