Excerpts
Q: When did you first watch Starsky and Hutch?
A: First run, in the glorious '70s, during my not so glorious high school years. The pilot movie was it for me, I was hooked, however, when The Fix was first aired I was not only hooked, I was completely addicted. I had never heard the term "hurt-comfort" back then, but I had always been drawn to that incredible tummy flutter when a character I adored was being fussed over after a terrible (usually bloodless bullet wound circa Bonanza and Big Valley re-runs) injury or emotional pounding. The Fix was in a class all by itself. I'm not sure I closed my mouth the whole time I was watching the cuddling, and caring, and worry...yep, addicted, hook, line, and sinker. That was me.
Q: What made you start writing stories? Had you written fic in other fandoms?
A: I've never been in another fandom, then or now. I had always day-dreamed scenarios and scenes in my head--as long as I can remember I've done that--but my first fandom friend invited me to co-write something with her and another friend, and it was fun and sort of amazing to see it on paper. That was my start in SH writing.
Q: What is your favorite story that you wrote, and in the fandom.
A: I enjoyed writing "Holiday Blues" very much, so I guess that's my favorite of my things. My favorite story in the fandom? It would be easier to name my top 100. I'm a voracious reader and I'm still in awe of the writers who have gifted us with so much. However, that's not a real answer so I'm going to give you a few titles that mean a great deal to me and have truly enriched me:
And now I want to talk about Lynna, and Suz, and CC, and you, Miss Dawn. See, it's an impossible-for-me question. I feel so blessed to have had access to this treasure trove for the past seventeen years.
