I usually approach a new fandom looking for the typical het pairing--I must admit I came to SGA looking for John/Elizabeth fic (because they're kinda like Keith and Allura) and then read a John and Rodney fic and suddenly it all made sense in my head.... I started off in the Alias fandom back on the SD-1 boards and moved to Livejournal a year after that. That started me frolicking in other fandoms including Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Veronica Mars, Firefly, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica and of course, Stargate Atlantis. Actually now that I think about it, I just lied. My very first fic was a Voltron fic, but it was unfinished and had the worst Mary Sue ever so I must have just blocked it from my mind. That doesn't count, does it?
