-Shipping Name Origin

Matt/Tabitha's ship name has somewhat of an odd history. GaslightShipping was coined first, sometime between 27 January 2014[Notes 1] and 01 April 2014[Notes 2]. The name most used by shippers, "SeamountShipping," was coined around the same time and was widely in use by 01 December 2014[Notes 3], it was just never submitted to be considered "official" on the Neverending Romance ship list.

On 19 February 2017, SeamountShipping was submitted to the Tumblr for Neverending Romance as the ship name for Blue Eyes/Lavana[1]. However, by this time, Seamout had already been in use by fans[2]. Because Blue Eyes/Lavana was submitted first, and because Gaslight was still considered official, the name was added to the list for them later in the year with Seamount being considered an 'untouchable" ship; ship names that weren't official but had a long history of being used.

In 2020, Blue Eyes/Lavana's ship name was removed from the list because it had no fan activity, though Seamount is still not considered official.[3]
