Magical Pregnancy is a trope in which a pregnancy is caused by some form of magical means.
The methods can be in the form of a:
- Potion
- Spell
- Curse
- Wish
The trope is often used in pregnancy stories that involve two or more characters who are unable to have children in the more conventional way, and hence will be used in mpreg and fpreg stories in which the characters are both cisgender individuals, as well as in some het stories where one character is trans.
A similiar trope involves a spontaneous pregnancy caused by science-fiction or science-fantasy concepts, rather than the typical fantasy magic one would expect.
