List Gardener's Tips For Managing Forever Knight List Subscriptions (often abbreviated to just "List Gardener's Tips") is a webpage on Don Fasig's website.
As co-listowner of FORKNI-L, FKFIC-L, and FKV4S-L, Don created the page to provide people interested in joining one or more of the mailing lists with a location on the open web where they could find all the information they would need to subscribe and manage their accounts.
The page has a large chart detailing the various commands and their functions, and describing how to send them to the server. These include:
- setting yourself NOMAIL, and reversing it to get mail again;
- getting posts in DIGEST format instead of individually;
- setting yourself to get (or not get) War-related posts;
- setting yourself to get (or not get) PRAYER posts, in which people ask their fellow list-members to pray for them or for a family member;
- setting yourself to receive (or not receive) CROSSOVER stories;
- setting yourself to receive (or not receive) ADULT fiction.
Site History
The List Gardener's Tips page was originally at http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7139/fk-lists.htm. The index page of the site is dated 1997. It was first recorded by the Internet Archive in September 1999, and remained on the web almost unchanged (except for the addition of the PRAYER topic, when that was added to the options) until the closure of GeoCities in 2009. At that time, the site was moved to its current location in the Forever Knight Website Archive.
