Lego Marvel's Avengers is a multiplatform video game adapted from the first two Avengers films and includes a variety of playable sections for standalone character films including Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 3, and Captain America: The First Avenger. There are also a series of playable Agent Carter quests in the Manhattan hub as well as downloadable add ons for Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Ant Man and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. It is notable for using voice clips from the films plus additional content recorded by Hayley Atwell, Cobie Smulders, Ashley Johnson, Michael Peña, Ming-Na Wen and Clark Gregg. Additional voices include Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno.

While the main game sections all follow the plots and include characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, only the SHIELD add on uses an actual mission from the television series. For example, Doctor Strange introduces Clea and a different version of Baron Mondo, and Black Panther has Shuri as his battle companion fighting against a Claw who killed their father.
