Reactions and Reviews
This was a really interesting story. Well written and didn't lose my interest at all. Although I did wish it would have went on slightly longer. I liked the idea that James Kirk, the world renown skirt chaser, couldn't respond to the Romulan Commander, but he could respond to his best friend, Spock. I also liked the idea of Spock being so supportive when he could have just hidden behind his Vulcan walls and left Kirk to face this all alone. Spock saw that James Kirk needed his support, and Spock has always given James Kirk just what he'd needed from him. I would have liked this story to be expanded more about what happens to the Kirk/Spock relationship after the rape by the Romulan Commander. Do Kirk and Spock now become lovers, or do they just forget the whole thing happened? [1]
The Romulan Commander kidnaps Kirk & Spock & forces them to perform sexually. Sadistic & humiliating with an incongruously upbeat ending. This is of the if-you're-going-to-be-raped-you-might-as-well-lie-back-and-enjoy-it school of literature. [2]
