Kyoko Sasagawa is a character from Katekyo Hitman Reborn.

Canon

Kyoko Sasagawa is a secondary protagonist in Katekyo Hitman Reborn who serves as the protagonist's romantic interest. She is a classmate of Tsunayoshi Sawada and the younger sister of the Vongola Sun Guardian, Sasagawa Ryouhei.

Kyoko is an ordinary girl who is popular among her classmates at Namimori Middle School. She tends to dismiss much of what her brother and Tsuna tell her about the mafia-related incidents that make up the main plot as jokes, and is only rarely involved directly in problems caused by the Vongola. Tsuna has an intense crush on her. [1]

Popular Fanon and Tropes

  • In canon, Kyoko is fairly disconnected from most of the main plotline, to the point of not being fully aware of what her brother and Tsuna are involved in. Many fanfics have either her brother or Tsuna tell her more about the Vongola at the start of the plot.
  • In a similar vein, many fanfics expand her role within Tsuna's Family, either by making her a Guardian or giving her another type of official position. Usually fanworks that envision her as a Guardian make her the Sun Guardian, but she is sometimes also given Sky Flames or other types.[3]
  • Like many of Tsuna's other acquaintances, she is often made part of the "Bizarre Namimori" fandom trope.
  • Most fics in which Tsunayoshi is paired with another character still present Kyoko and Tsuna as good friends and often portray Kyoko as supportive of Tsuna's relationship. [4]
