Keita Mori is one of the main characters in The Watchmaker of Filigree Street novel, written by Natasha Pulley. He also appears in The Bedlam Stacks.
He is a gifted watchmaker with the ability to remember the future.
He appears in fanworks, usually paired with canon love interest Thaniel Steepleton: Keita Mori/Thaniel Steepleton.
In Canon
Keita Mori is a Japanese aristocrat turned watchmaker, who remembers possible futures. Only the operation of chance, or the likelihood of his own death, cloud this ability.
He moves to London to meet Thaniel Steepleton. He plays the piano and speaks English with a northern accent, due to remembering his life with Thaniel.
Mori is a parent to Six, his former watchmaking apprentice and Thaniel's adoptive daughter.
Mori's watchmaking abilities border on the magical. He made himself a pet mechanical octopus, Katsu, which is elaborate enough to seem intelligent.
By the end of "The Lost Future of Pepperharrow," Mori has lost his gift; however he has also saved Thaniel's life by engineering a future in which the cure for tuberculosis is discovered in time to save him.
