Jurassic Park is a live-action science fiction film series based on the 1990 novel of the same name by Michael Crichton that gained a large popularity and spawned three sequels, The Lost World: Jurassic Park II in 1997, Jurassic Park III in 2001, and finally Jurassic World was released in 2015.

Fanfic is predominately based on the movies, with the third movie being the most popular one.

"Jurassic Park III"--No, really! Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) from the first movie is once again talked into going to an island with lots of dinasaurs. Having broked up with Laura Dern, he now seems very...together with his grad student, Billy Brennan (Alessandro Nivola). Billy certainly has more than a little crush, if nothing else and Alan doesn't seem to mind at all... (Added bonus of having one of the smartest, yet least annoying kids ever in an action film.)[1]

There also exists some book fic as well and Jurassic Park is a fairly popular Yuletide fandom. It usually produces at least a few fics every year for the fest.

The Jurassic World film actually helped the original trilogy's popularity - more gifs and picspams were created focused on the original three movies and trailers for Jurassic Wold on Tumblr along with a few Tumblr blogs were created surrounding the universe appeared prior to the release of the film. Jurassic World fandom exploded after its release, with more gifs and other types of fanworks such as fanart and fanfiction were created around the film and its characters.

Popular pairings from the original movie were het pairings Ellie Sattler/Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler/Ian Malcolm with some Alan Grant/Ian Malcolm, but the fandom is quite small for them. The third movie, however, has a significant slash following thanks to Billy Brennan/Alan Grant. The crack pairing Robert Muldoon/Clever Girl (one of the velociraptors) also has a small but loyal following.

With Jurassic World introduction, Claire Dearing/Owen Grady pairing became quite popular although Owen Grady & his Raptor Squad is just as popular. Owen Grady/Zach Mitchell, Owen/You and Owen/OCs are fairly common. Gray/Zach is a fairly rare pairing.
