It Could Be SWars was a May 1980 two-page fan survey created by Jani Hicks and published in Twin Suns #1. The results were to be available the following December.
The survey likely did not have a lot of participation. Only one fan commented upon it in the Twin Suns letters of comment section, saying: "I'd send in the SWs survey but I don't want to cut up the 'zine. Maybe I'll write it out. [Editor's response: That page is perforated. It just pulls out.]
Some Context
Hicks was very vocal in her frustration and anger regarding George Lucas (and his minion at the time, fan liaison Craig Miller) and the degrading treatment and lack of respect shown to fans. See the essay S'Our Wars, Too.
Hicks' activism and frustration is also evident in the last line of the survey: "Let's give San Anselmo on the San Andreas the word from fandom!"
The lack of response to the survey may have had a lot to do with Hicks' statement that the results were to be sent to George Lucas. While the very controversial letters sent to fans regarding restrictions and threats about fanworks were still just over a year in the future, there were certainly hints and uneasiness regarding fanworks and their visibility; many fans may not have felt comfortable revealing themselves.
