In Celebration is a Kirk/Spock story by Charlotte Frost.

It was published in the print zine First Time #11.

Summary

"Kirk is awed by Spockʼs gift to him, but is upset when he discovers that it sprung from one of McCoyʼs verbal jabs at the Vulcan."

Reactions and Reviews

By chance, Kirk happens to open a dresser drawer in Spock's quarters and sees a tube of lubricant. He can't get it out of his mind and is surprised, doubtful and fascinated—and finds himself attracted to Spock.

Kirk talks to him about Vulcan friendships and Spock explains that intimate friendships involve a "physical aspect". I loved Kirk's question after this revelation: "Do you not consider the physical aspect because of me, or because of you?" I equally loved Spock's answer "Because of your sexuality, of course. You are innately heterosexual." And then when Kirk asks if Spock is bisexual, Spock answers that he is "asexual", which really isn't the correct term at all, in my opinion, but at least Spock says: "I would welcome the opportunity to share with you on any level."

Later Kirk actually comes out and tells Spock he wants to make love with him. What's cool about this is that Kirk decides that Spock would like to be "in command" during their first sexual encounter. I'm not quite sure how he came to this conclusion, but it's a good one.

I really enjoyed the sex scene—there's a mind link for pain and Spock is appropriately both virginal and commanding. He penetrates Kirk and it's very sexy, and they decide that the next time, Kirk with be on top.

This is just one of many wonderful Charlotte Frost stories—one of my favorite authors. [1]
